EARLY CARIOUS LESIONS TREATMENT
Curodont Repair struggles with early-stage caries by remineralizing the enamel with a biomimetic system. The treatment is suitable for all patients, including children. It is successfully applied for initial, active and non-cavitated caries. If cavitation has formed, the tooth needs restorative treatment.
After treatment, at least 4-6 months are required to get a noticeable result. During this period, we apply the treatment only 1 time. After 6 months, we evaluate the effects of the treatment with a follow-up examination. Regular check-ups and good oral hygiene are very important for a successful result.
This innovative treatment provides tissue regeneration without the need for any preparation of the tooth through directed enamel regeneration. By promoting the formation of hydroxyapatite crystals, which form the basis of the enamel structure, Curodont reverses the mineral loss caused by caries.
The P11-4 peptide technology diffuses into the depth of carious lesion within 5 minutes.
The peptides self-assemble within the carious lesion, forming a biomatrix which attracts calcium.
New hydroxyapatite crystals start forming around the biomatrix promoting regeneration of the enamel.
The regeneration leads to caries arrest, regression of the size of the lesion and preservation of the natural tooth structure.
In our clinic, we use Curodont Repair for early carious lesion treatment. Below are the X-rays of our patient, whom we followed up with for 6 months. The X-ray results show how effective the treatment process was.
After 6 months, we can clearly see that the initial cavities have shrunk and enamel formation has started again. This success is not only due to the effect of CurodontRepair, but also to the patient’s attention to regular oral care.
